Bella MacRae
B' esan Alister MacGillIosa, no Alasdair Mòr mar a bh'fheàrr a b'aithnichear, a bha na sgiobair air a' bhàt'-iasgaich seo. Mar a chithear, cha robh taigh-cuibhle air bòrd. B' e sgoth bheag a bha anns a' Bella MacRae is b' ann le Alasdair MacGillIosa (Ali Bàn) agus a bhràthair Dunnchadh (Dunnchadh Ceàrr no Cearraidh) is a bha i. Chaidh a togail ann an Àird an Fheusgain, dìreach pìos beag sìos a' chost' on Chomraich.
Dar a leig Ali Bàn is Dunnchadh Ceàrr seachad an dreuchdan aig muir, bha Dunnchadh (Dunnchadh Ali Bhàin) na sgiobair an uair sin, is dh'ainmich esan am bàta mar Bella. Mu dheireadh bha i na làighe air a' chladach ann an Camas Tearach far an do thuit i far a cèile, is cha b' ann cho fada o Pholl Chreadha far an robh i na bu trice aig acair.
Bella MacRae
Alister Gillies, or Alasdair Mòr as he was better known, was teh skipper of the Bella MacRae. As can be seen in the pictures, there was no wheelhouse on board. She was a small skiff, owned by another Alasdair Gillies (Ali Bàn) and his brother Duncan (Dunnchadh Ceàrr or Cearraidh). She was built in Ardneaskan on Loch Carron, just a short distance from Applecross.
When Ali Bàn and Dunnchadh Ceàrr retired from the sea, Ali Bàn's son Duncan (Dunnchadh Ali Bhàin) became skipper, changing her name to Bella. Eventually, she finished up lying on the shore at Camusterrach where she finally fell apart, not far from her former anchor at the Poll Chreadha.
